Coinbase CAT: how its internal AI security testing works

Coinbase described CAT, its internal continuous security-testing platform, in a September 15, 2026 post. The company says AI agents examine new code changes and existing assets.

How is access limited?

According to Coinbase, permissions are enforced outside the model and findings undergo several validation stages before human review. This is the company’s account, not an independent audit or a guarantee of customer-asset security.

Is CAT publicly available?

Coinbase says CAT remains internal only while it evaluates whether some components could be released externally. This announcement does not introduce a token or investment product.
